At the bottom of Northwest Mexico’s Copper Canyons, in the town of Urique, there is a 47 mile Ultra Marathon every March.
Here is Will Harlan from Asheville, North Carolina’s experience from the 2009 race.

We are looking for drinking games or non drinking based games that fit with the theme of Marathon/running. The party is actually a fund raiser for a guy running the Boston Marathon, hence the theme.
Alright well everyone needs a race number to pin on– OH! Instead of having the "Hello my name is…" name tags, make blank race bibs (what the numbers go on) and have people write in their names on the bibs.
You could have a shot station where people take shots of gatorade… but have a bunch of different flavors/colors that people can get creative with and mix their own colorful non alcoholic shots. Or if you want alcohol have a cocktail station that find some recipes that use gatorade (or some equivalent) and alcohol.
Don’t know if its formal or not but you could have colored tape to make "adidas" stripes down everyone’s pants (so they look like Running pants) or cut out little nike swooshes and tape them to the sides of everyone’s shoes (would be especially funny on ladies wearing high heels)
You could make little finisher medals out of aluminum foil or yogurt lids for people who win the drinking games or races or what have you.
And have songs like Eye of the Tiger, Chariots of Fire, and Black Eyed Pea’s: Lets get it started (along with other equally inspirational/running related songs) playing in the back ground.
